Fayette County Democratic Committee (GA)

Democratic HQ Project

Goal thermometer

Our Challenge:

The Fayette County Democratic Committee has grown substantially over the last decade. This growth includes the many people who attend our regular monthly breakfast, the number of events we sponsor ayear, the number of active members, the number of candidates and elected officials, the number ofFacebook likes and the number of votes for a Democratic Presidential Candidate from Fayette County.

In 2016 Hillary Clinton received over 23,000 votes in Fayette County. We are constantly searching for ways to engage those tens of thousands of Democratic voters who are not involved in our organization.

A Solution:

The Fayette County Democratic Committee lacks a permanent place to call home. A place that not only people could drive by and see physical evidence of our place in this community, but also a place that can build and foster community and activism with our county.

Imagine one location that new members could go to receive information about us and our candidates. One place where members could come and see photos and calendars and awards on the walls. One place where we could could hold regular office hours and phone banking. One place where we could know that our committees would have the space and privacy to meet. One place where you could go pick up a yard sign. One place where you could direct anyone who asked about the Democrats.

A small storefront location can easily fulfill all of these needs. It would not serve as our general membership meeting location, where we need a large space once a month, but would serve as that community hub that would promote and allow the growth of FCDC.

Our Goal:

Our goal is to fully fund a campaign to cover the occupancy expenses of such a space for 3 years.

This isn’t about writing a one-time check, but about making a commitment to the future of Democrats in Fayette County. We are asking people to participate with a 3 year pledge.

Your support of this campaign, financially as well as with your personal leadership, is very important to making sure that Democratic values and ideals continue to grow and that we elect more people who believe in those values and ideals in Fayette County.
