Charlie Crist

When We First Met!

In 2017, as the Student Body President of USF Sarasota-Manatee, I traveled to Washington D.C. to join student leaders at the Climate Leadership Summit. At the Summit, I was selected to make an introduction.

The person I was introducing was one of the early leaders on blunting the impact of climate change, someone who organized a similar summit more than a decade ago, and helped put in place some of the most progressive and responsible laws, rules, and executive orders in the country.

It was Charlie Crist.

And not only was he incredibly kind to me (I was so nervous!), but he told me to apply for an internship. And I did. And after graduating last spring, I did it! I came to Washington D.C. and worked in his office.

It was so rewarding.

We worked hard, but constructively, doing our best to serve others and our environment by the Golden Rule. That’s what everyone in the office always said — remember the Golden Rule.

Now I’m on the campaign side of things. And I realize how important emails like this are to keep our values and good people like Rep. Charlie Crist in office.

This is my first fundraising email (yes, I’m nervous again).

I’m hoping my story, and your own story about first meeting or supporting Rep. Crist, inspires you to chip in something.I’ll be personally tracking all donations.
