On July 7th, 2021 Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced a special session designed to push the radical right’s voter suppression bill into law. The current Texas bill curtails voting for people who are unable to vote in-person on election day, including prohibiting election officials from proactive distribution of mail-in ballot applications which would impact over a million voters who voted by mail in 2020. This bill is one of many on the radical right’s agenda bill, which also includes attacks on public education, women’s healthcare, and transgender students.
The States Project is working hard to provide lawmakers with the tools they need to fight the radical right’s agenda in TX and in state legislatures around the country.
