Rep. Slotkin is running to defend the seat currently held by four term Senator Debbie Stabenow. Michigan has been a key battleground state in the last two Presidential elections and is shaping up to be one again in 2024.
Rep. Slotkin has served three terms in the House of Representatives, where she has been a member of the Armed Services, Homeland Security and Veterans Affairs Committees. She served three tours in Iraq as a CIA analyst and worked for both the State Department and the Department of Defense. She was acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs from 2015 to 2017.
