Gil Cisneros is a former U.S. Navy officer and Under Secretary of Defense. He currently represents California’s 31st Congressional District and previously represented the 39th District from 2019 to 2021, before serving as Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness under President Biden. In Congress and in the Department of Defense, Gil has been a champion for diversity and mental health in the military and has worked tirelessly to support veterans transitioning to civilian life. His unique perspective, serving across levels in our armed forces, has made him a powerful voice for diplomacy. In the 119th Congress, Gil serves on the House Armed Services Committee and the House Committee on Small Business.
