Dan Helmer is a third-term member of the Virginia House of Delegates and a U.S. Army veteran. Dan served 11 years on active duty, including multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, and at U.S. Special Operations Command working on counterterrorism and intelligence operations. He is a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal for Meritorious Service. Dan graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and later earned an MPhil in International Relations at Oxford on a Rhodes Scholarship. In Congress, Dan’s top priorities would include fully funding the State Department and USAID, peacefully managing the United States’ strategic competition with China, supporting Ukraine, pursuing diplomatic solutions in the Middle East, and investing in democracy and development around the world.
