Raja Krishnamoorthi is a fourth-term Congressman serving as Ranking Member of the Select Committee on Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party, making him the first South Asian American in history to lead a committee. He also serves on the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the Committee on Oversight and Accountability. Prior to entering Congress, Raja served as a Special Assistant Attorney General in Illinois’ Public Integrity Unit and later as Illinois Deputy Treasurer. In Congress, Raja is committed to strengthening the U.S. diplomatic corps, avoiding escalatory and provocative rhetoric that prevents cooperation between the U.S. and China, and protecting key trade and supply chains to strengthen U.S. national security.
