Abigail Spanberger began her career in public service as a federal law enforcement officer for the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and later as a case officer with the Central Intelligence Agency. As a CIA officer, Abigail worked overseas and undercover on matters of national security ranging from nuclear nonproliferation to combatting terrorism through intelligence gathering. From 2018-2024, Abigail served as the Representative of Virginia’s 7th Congressional District and was consistently ranked as the most bipartisan Member of Congress from Virginia and one of the most bipartisan Members of Congress overall. As Governor, Abigail will fight to protect Virginia’s federal employees, farmers, and military servicemembers from policies that gut the public sector workforce, damage international trading relationships, and increase security risks at home and abroad.
