Dr. Frank Gomez is running for Municipal Water District of Orange County - Division 6, an area that serves parts of Tustin, Irvine, Lake Forest, Rancho Santa Margarita, and Trabuco Canyon. He is Professor of Chemistry and Executive Director of STEM-NET, a California State University multicampus consortium at the CSU Office of the Chancellor where he leads STEM initiatives for the 23-campus CSU system. Frank has spent his career advocating for people and working to make things better for his community and is ready to bring his expertise to the MWDOC board. He is committed to the proportional and equitable distribution of water related to environmental benefits and risks among diverse economic and cultural communities. Frank takes a broad view of cost-effective options to increase water supply and manage demand and is visionary in his thinking to create opportunities to benefit the water future of Orange County.
Frank earned his BS in chemistry with honors from Cal State LA and PhD in chemistry from UCLA. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard University. Frank, his love Lorena, and their children live in Tustin Ranch.
