Freedom to Read Fundraiser

Huntington Beach has been at the forefront of the fight for the Freedom to Read. This current City Council attacked our libraries and our librarians, through censorship, slander, budget cuts and more.


The Surf City 4 is ready to fight back! Taryn Palumbo, Erin Spivey, Brenda Glim and Ben Davis believe that democracy is intertwined with the Freedom to Read. They are running to regain the majority on Huntington Beach City Council and protect all of our freedoms.


Which is why we're happy to host a Freedom to Read fundraiser, featuring four fabulous Southern California authors:

We can't wait to share an evening discussing reading, writing, and the fight against censorship. Let's turn the page on this current council and write a new chapter for Huntington Beach, together!


A special VIP reception will start at 5:30pm to meet with candidates and authors. You'll receive four signed books, have the opportunity for book personalization, individual photos, and more!
