Fixing Roads. Feeding Kids.
After three terms in the Virginia General Assembly, I’m running to serve State Senate District 30, representing Manassas, Manassas Park, and western Prince William County. I’m running because there’s more work to do to improve Virginians’ quality of life. As Inside NoVA’s “Best Public Servant” (2021), I bridge divides between Democrats and Republicans to make real change.
I’m a step-mom, a lifelong Manassas resident, and the current Delegate representing Virginia’s 13th District in the House of Delegates. In 2017, I unseated a 13-term incumbent, becoming the first out-and-seated transgender state legislator in American history.
As Delegate, I’ve kept my campaign promises to expand Medicaid and raise teacher pay. Our past two governors have signed 32 of my bills into law, including 12 bills to feed hungry kids and adults, 3 to promote LGBTQ equality, and 2 to protect historic cemeteries.
