Her strong leadership skills, integrity, respect and care for others, and her commitment to getting things done are characteristics that are valuable when people of diverse backgrounds are charge with making decisions for children.
Dannine is a committed public servant, a proponent of public education, and a strong advocate for all children. Dannine served as a National Vice President, Chapter Vice President and Chief Steward for the National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU). She served as the PTSA president for Central High School from 2018 to 2021. Dannine has also volunteered with the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) of Prince George’s County since 2013.
Every child deserves an equal chance at success. Personal and social circumstances should not prevent them from achieving their academic potential. Regardless of background, race, or location, all children deserve access to a high-quality education that fits their needs. As Marian Wright Edelman said, “Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it”, and Dannine intends to leave her community better than she found it.
