I am thrilled to share the exciting news that I have officially secured a spot on the March 19, 2024 Democratic primary ballot, as a candidate for Illinois State Representative in the 31st District! I am more determined than ever to win this seat, and more importantly, to advocate for the residents of the 31st District.
Having lived and worked in this district for many years, I have witnessed the unique challenges and opportunities that our community faces. From economic development and education to healthcare and public safety, our district deserves a proactive and forward-thinking representative who will work tirelessly to address these issues.
With your support, I am committed to bringing positive change to our community and representing the interests and concerns of the residents of the 31st District.
Key Priorities:
• Education: Our children deserve the best education possible. I will advocate for fully-funded public schools, improved support for diverse learners, a full cadre of support staff (counselors, psychologists/social workers, nurses, etc.), and low to no-cost post-secondary options, leveraging our community colleges' early college programs, and promoting skilled trades training programs.
• Economic Development: I will focus on creating jobs, supporting local businesses, and attracting investments to stimulate economic growth in our district.
• Healthcare: Access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right. I will work to improve the availability of healthcare services, including mental health, in our community; fight to reduce costs or prescription drugs; and ensure that everyone in our community has access to the care they need.
• Supporting Working Families: Workers are the backbone of our community. I will be a vocal advocate for worker’s rights to organize and bargain for fair wages, working conditions, and job security, and for a livable minimum wage that keeps pace with inflation.
• Public Safety: I will collaborate with community organizations and law enforcement to ensure the safety, well-being, and equal protection of all residents.
This campaign is about all of us coming together to build a better future for the 31st District. I am eager to listen to your concerns, ideas, and hopes for our community.
