Hi folks,
I’m Aaron Mishler and I’m running to keep my seat as the Elkhart City Council First District representative here in Elkhart, Indiana.
Growing up in Goshen, Indiana, I had the firsthand pleasure of watching Elkhart grow. After serving in the National Guard, the City of Elkhart became my home and I began to get involved in my community. I’m no stranger to service, as I have dedicated both my career and personal time to helping others. By day I am a registered nurse, but on my off time I serve on public health boards and disaster relief teams.
In my two years on Council I've worked hard to support our community, from Main Street to your neighborhood. One of my main goals was to support small businesses through the Covid-19 pandemic to ensure their longevity in our community. Both small businesses and large companies feed into a greater ecosystem, making life in Elkhart more vibrant. I was a strong advocate for creating grant programs to support our downtown businesses through these challenging times, and was dedicated to funding the new Tolson Center to invest in our youth.
It is important to note that it's not always about the big projects, but more so about helping our neighbors out in times of need. That is what makes Elkhart feel like home. From my first week in office, I have collaborated with residents and City departments to get things done by working with the street department repave a damaged lot on Goshen Avenue. The everyday contributions a council member can make are often overlooked. From grading an alley on Division to fixing the many pot holes our Indiana weather brings, I have demonstrated that the concerns of residents reside with me. No comment goes unheard, and your voice is important to me.
