On January 6, 2021, former President Donald Trump incited a violent insurrection, attacking Congress and our nation’s Capitol, in an effort to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
Now, Trump has declared his candidacy for president again in 2024.
But because of his role in inciting, encouraging, and supporting the January 6th insurrection, Trump is constitutionally ineligible for any future run for office.
Free Speech For People and Mi Familia Vota Education Fund are urging Secretaries of State and chief election officials across the country to follow the mandate of Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment and bar Trump from any future ballot.
This campaign is about more than January 6th and it is about more than Donald Trump. It is about ensuring that any elected official who takes an oath to defend our Constitution and then engages in insurrection is barred from holding public office again.
