As we work together to consider how we might best work to move our country meaningfully forward once again, here are some candidates and organizations for you to consider contributing to in the meantime.
- Jon Ossoff, a documentary filmmaker running for Georgia's 6th US House of Representatives district to replace Representative Tom Price, who is poised to be Trump's Health and Human Services Secretary. Supported by Representative John Lewis, Ossoff seeks to win the first Democratic congressional victory of the Trump era in a district that Trump only one by a single percentage point.
- The American Civil Liberties Union, a bulwark against the ongoing attempts at rolling back civil liberties and human rights.
- Adding Elizabeth Warren, long-time progressive champion: #NeverthelessShePersisted
- Stephanie Hansen - important opportunity in Delaware State Senate. DE is 1 of 6 states where Democrats hold both houses & the governorship. But the DE Senate has a vacancy and is tied at 10-10. If GOP wins, they control the DE Senate & will block pretty any & all Democratic initiatives. Former New Castle County Council President Stephanie Hansen is running on the Democrat side in a somewhat blue seat in Presidential years. Fighting for and winning off-cycle elections is the best way to build momentum for 2018.
- Sharon Quirk-Silva, our local State Assemblyperson Fighting to keep our local seat Democratic in non-presidential election years is crucial. Let's help her hold our seat in 2018. (Will add her as soon as she has a current page on ActBlue.)
