Why women's rights are human rights: A Women's Equity Salon
Sunday, March 21, 2020
4 P.M. PT - 5 P.M. PT
Join us for a panel discussion on the feminization of poverty, equal pay, health inequity, and the disproportionate impact of the pandemic on women.
The conversation will be led by Saru Jayaraman, President of One Fair Wage and Director of UC Berkeley's Food Labor Research Center. The panel will include Congresswoman Barbara Lee, CA Senator Sydney Kamlager-Dove, CA Controller Betty Yee, and medical practitioner Malini Nijagal.
Equally as exciting, the event will also feature Virginia State Senator Jennifer McClellan, who is running for Governor of Virginia. If elected, she will become the first female Governor of Virginia and the first Black woman to be elected governor in United States history. She will be interviewed by Fund Her board member Deidre DeJear, who was the first African-American to earn a major party nomination in a state race in Iowa.
