500 Donors Goal: Support Georgia Dems standing against voter suppression legislation

Goal thermometer

Park Cannon, a Democratic member of the Georgia House of Representatives, was just arrested for trying to watch Republican governor Brian Kemp sign a horrific new law that will make it harder for minorities and seniors to vote in that state.

Rep. Cannon was simply knocking on the governor’s door, asking to be let in. That was enough for them to cart her away like a common criminal.

Today, as a way of honoring Park Cannon's bravery, we’re fundraising for the Georgia Democratic party. State representatives in Georgia aren’t allowed to fundraise during legislative session, or we'd fundraise for Rep. Cannon directly, but let’s make sure that Park Cannon, and Gov. Kemp’s Democratic opponent, have the support they need in the next election.

Help us fight back by chipping in a donation to the Georgia Democratic Party and AMERICAblog. Your contribution, no matter how small, makes a world of difference in these fights.

Thanks so much for your support.
