Riaz Garcia is a lifelong Revere resident. He attended the old Kiddie Koop, the Garfield School, and graduated from Revere High School (RHS) in 2018. After RHS, he studied at Boston University where he graduated with a degree in Economics in 2022 and became one of the first people in his family to earn a college degree. In his day job as an Investment Analyst, Riaz specifically works with foundations and school endowments to help them invest their money to cover things like operating costs, scholarships/grants, and future buildings/projects. He believes his expertise as both a former student and now financial professional can be valuable in helping to shape the future of the Revere Public Schools district.
Riaz is running for School Committee because he believes in Revere's schools and knows that they can do more to support their students, families, and staff. If elected, his priorities include recruiting and retaining a more diverse staff, bringing in more trades, improving alumni engagement, and getting Revere's high school graduation rate as close to 100% as possible.
