Carlos is running for re-election because he understands that no one gets to where they are alone, and local government can play a positive role in enhancing our lives. As the first in his family to graduate from high school, he experienced firsthand the benefits of a strong school system. As someone who grew up in a low-income household, he understands how local decisions can impact families like mine. As a young person, he understands how valuable it is to live in a safe community that offers opportunities to get ahead.

During his first term, he has been proud to roll up his sleeves and work directly to support Shrewsbury’s residents. As a proud Shrewsbury High school graduate, and the only member of the Select Board that grew up in town, Carlos is motivated every day to give back to the community that shaped him. Having served as a Town Meeting Member, as a Finance Committee Member, and on the Select Board, he has developed the skillset and demonstrated his ability to tackle the tough issues that we face as a community.
