Our world seems to be getting more dangerous. Even as scientists continue to createvaccines to prevent disease, mothers reduced drunk driving throughbetter laws, legislators limited hazardous chemicals sold to make dirtybombs, and cold medications (that made street drugs) were restricted, we stillhave a huge problem that is largely preventable. Gun Violence. Just one person losing their life is reason to try to preventothers. (Today in America over 90 peoplelose their life to a gun every day.) Idon’t want any of my 20 nieces and nephews to live in a world where they arescared of an “active shooter” situation at school, the mall, the airport, oranywhere. I don’t want to hear ofanother friend who lost her sister to a domestic crisis. I certainly don’t want anyone to go throughthe pain that the family I met after the Pulse tragedy has suffered.
