Get Free is building a youth-led movement to movement to repair past harms, remove ongoing barriers to equality, and realize a future where freedom is for all.
We are in the midst of the biggest purge of Civil Rights in the past century.
Next year as our country approaches its 250th birthday we will face a choice point for which direction we want our country to head in: will we choose to continue to go down the slippery slope of white supremacist authoritarianism or will we choose to repair our past harms and become a true multiracial democracy for all? At Get Free we are preparing to launch a major mobilization to make sure our country makes the right choice.
The good news is that we’ve already planted the seeds for repair: this past year we’ve grown our movement exponentially: we began our fellowship program, launched new chapters in DC Philly, Chicago, Baltimore, and the Bay Area, and launched Project Fulcrum, our campaign to organize fans of Andor to stand up to white supremacist fascism, bringing hundreds of Star Wars fans into our movement
To do all this, we have to massively scale up our people power, ensuring that we grow our chapters across the country, give people, no matter their location, meaningful ways to plug into our work, and shift the narrative at a national level. We’re going to need to hire more staff and fellows to guarantee that we are not just growing but sustaining the movement for the long run. By bringing more paid capacity onto our team, we’re ensuring that we can make our vision for 2026 a reality without burning out because the work of a movement is not temporary, it’s generational.
