Giving Tuesday Now
#GivingTuesdayNow is a global day of giving and unity that will take place on May 5, 2020. The GivingTuesday organization established it as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. It is a day when individuals, communities, nonprofits, and corporations from around the world can come together and give back in a variety of ways, from helping a neighbor or making masks by hand for first responders to donating to or volunteering with a favorite charity—every act of generosity counts.
Lots of families have lost a source of income because of this crisis. Families with members who are transgender would be disproportionately affected by this, as folks in this community are four times more likely to make below $10k/year. Our "inTRANSition" program provides direct aid (when possible) to trans and gender non-conforming folks who come to us for assistance. Our goal for Giving Tuesday Now is to raise $2600. These funds will allow us to provide a week's worth of groceries for three different families per week over the next month; meaning that your donation to Trans Empowerment Project makes a direct, positive impact on someone's life during this difficult time.
