Hello!

I am running in the primary race for State Representative HD-18.

In my life I have persevered, shown resilience, faith, strength, courage, compassion, empathy, and innovation to improve my life and those of others. As State Representative of District 18, I will continue that path.

Through education, I have risen from poverty. I struggled through taking care of myself from the end of high school through obtaining a PhD. I am the proud single mother of two wonderful young adults that I was able to put through college. My eldest son is a Marine Veteran, now working in a nonprofit agency assisting victims of sex trafficking. My youngest son specializes in exercise physiology and nutrition working in the family greenhouses. They are both wonderful humans.

As a nurse and an advanced practice nurse, I have always advocated for those without a voice. I have been involved and recognized for my work in advocacy, health care and policy for over 30 years locally, at the state and national levels. Most recently, I was an invited member and participant to Senator Ben Ray Lujan and HHS Secretary Becerra's roundtable on Healthcare Workforce. I am skilled in negotiating and navigating through turbulent waters. It is imperative we have someone with this skill set in the House.

Because of my personal life experiences and nursing background, I have a unique perspective on the inequities, barriers, and access issues we suffer. I have viewpoints of nurses and providers, as well as the ideas and innovative solutions which they generate. Nurses touch every life from the moment of conception through dying with dignity.

As your representative, I will create and support policies that will help our communities, our people, and our lands while upholding our values. I will fight for an increase in behavioral health resources, resources for students and teachers, improving our healthcare workforce while addressing issues with access and healthcare disparities. But most importantly, I will fight for the issues that are important to you. I will be readily available through phone and town halls to hear your concerns and your ideas. Together we can be a “District Think Tank” and construct solutions to our problems as a community.

I obtained a PhD in Public Policy so I could better represent constituents and understand topics beyond healthcare, such as homeland security and non-governmental organizations.

I strongly believe policy, if created and implemented fittingly, can solve many of our issues.

Together we can create the change our communities and state need.

Thank you for believing in me!

Please consider donating to my campaign so I can represent through your voice!!!
