Democratic campaigns aren't always very good at reaching out to young voters or voters of color. That's a problem, given that Democrats depend on these groups to get elected. This fund supports an array of groups tackling this problem from different angles.
The Black Vote. I chose two groups specifically focused on Black voters. The Black Voters Matter Fund addresses registering and turning out Black voters, fighting voter suppression, and supporting candidates. BlackPAC engages voters and trains community leaders & organizers.
The Latinx Vote. I chose four groups focused on the Latinx vote. Nuestro PAC was founded by the people behind Bernie's successful Latinx outreach. Voto Latino, co-founded by Rosario Dawson, is working on registering 500,000 new voters in 2020. Mi Familia Vota is a civic engagement and GOTV group that is officially historically nonpartisan but is strongly anti-Trump. The Latino Victory Fund supports progressive Latinx candidates at all levels.
The Youth Vote. I chose two organizations. NextGen America is a progressive group founded by Steyer and focused on registering and turning out people under 35 yo. Sunrise is of course famously an environmental organization, but it is youth-focused and youth-led and very involved in elections.
The Native American Vote. I found one organization to include here: Montana Native Vote.
All of the Above. I included two groups that do all of the above.
The New Georgia Project is of course Stacey Abrams's famous turnout project. Fair Fight -- also from Stacey Abrams -- is working on voter protection across a number of key states. Since young voters and voters of color are the most likely to be suppressed, this should benefit those groups.
