Good Government Illinois is dedicated to protecting democracy, promoting fairness in government, and electing progressive candidates. To achieve these aims, GGI researches key public policy and political issues. This research, policy analysis, and political insight is shared with the public through newspaper editorials, radio appearances, podcasts, virtual town halls, and an email newsletter with several thousand subscribers. Your support ensures that this critical work of preserving democracy in Illinois continues. 


We will be honoring William McNary, the Co-Executive Director of Citizen Action IL, for his lifetime of fighting for justice. Additionally, the Citizen’s Utility Board (CUB) and the Illinois Public Interest Research Group (IL PIRG) will be honored for their key roles in the fight for fair utility rates. Sarah Moskowitz will accept the award on behalf of CUB and Abe Scarr on behalf of Illinois PIRG.
