Help Gordon Chaffin escape financial ruin after congressional campaign

Hello! I'm Gordon Chaffin, a professional dog walker in Washington, D.C earning a working class income in a city I've busted my ass over the last 17 years to afford.

I ran for Congress (Delegate) in D.C.'s 2026 Democratic Primary because I'm angry that so few people in power bring the perspective of a working person. There are lots of policy ideas to fix America's biggest problems, and we keep electing folks with pedigree, but almost none of them bring urgency that comes from recent personal struggle. So, I mounted my first-ever political campaign while working a day job outside during a winter harsher than D.C.'s seen in two decades.

I won't appear on D.C.'s ballot, but I still need your help. I invested more than $30,000 of my own money to run for Congress. That total includes all of my savings and sending my rent money to the campaign while my landlord charged my credit card up to my limit. Your donations help me recoup some of that start up cost.

Without your help, I will spend the coming years battling personal bankruptcy. Your donation means I can live to fight another day. I can tighten my personal budget belt for a while, regroup, and stay involved. I can look to the future and keep bringing the perspective of a working person to the halls of power.

I'm giving my best working toward financial recovery, but things are tough. My dog business revenue is down 40% so far in 2026 and my student loan payments really bite now that Trump has killed the Biden-era repayment plans.
