In the 2014 election cycle, the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (DLCC), was outspent nearly 3 to 1. Republicans now have more state legislative seats than they've had since the 1920s, with a national majority of 900 seats.
If we could win those seats back, we could turn the tide on state Republicans' all-out war on unions, good wages, clean air and water, reproductive healthcare, public schools, and working families. We need to fight for those seats in all 50 states if we ever want to roll back the GOP's disastrous gerrymandering schemes.
Yet until the state legislatures are a priority of national leadership again, our $5, $10, or $20 (recurring?) contributions are urgently needed to give sympathetic candidates a chance to make it into office in the first place. Then we can enjoy giving them an earful about how to do their jobs, and who doesn't like that?
You know what to do.
