Thank you for First Responders

Goal thermometer

Kalamazoo showed our strength in 2016 despite the challenges we faced. Among other issues, we have endured a mass shooting and grieved the loss of friends in the cyclist tragedy this summer. With every tragedy, we have been fortunate to have exceptional emergency personnel support us with lifelines through these dark times. From law enforcement’s timely capture of the mass shooter to the medical services provided to the victims in the bicycling crash, Kalamazoo has pulled together and shown how strong we can be!

The 60th District Service Office is hosting an event for community members to say thank you to those “boots on the ground” individuals who brought us through those tragedies. “Gratitude” is a ‘thank you’ event for these first responders, medical personnel and those who have helped Kalamazoo heal. Presented by the Michigan Nurses Association.
