The last two years have brought a lot of challenges, but also a lot of hope and togetherness throughout the pandemic. As a third generation Washingtonian, a small business owner, community organizer, and a product of Deanwood’s resilience, I remain grateful and blessed to continue to call Deanwood home and fight for a safer community for all.
Since you first elected me 6 years ago, I’ve lead the fight to improve public safety and accountability for community and police violence. We’ve created more affordable housing and protected many Deanwood seniors from displacement by going toe-to-toe with slumlords for abuse and exploitation. I’ve been a proud champion for Deanwood small and minority-owned businesses, and fought for more opportunities for Black-owned businesses to thrive up and down Sheriff Road. I’ve advocated for more investments to end our food deserts, and improve our water and traffic infrastructure. That work continues today with shovels in the ground all over the neighborhood.
Help us continue that work and donate to our campaign today! Building a people-powered campaign will need resources to win on election day.
