We all have stories about which incident of gun violence struck us as particularly unimaginable and made us think, “Surely, things will change after this.” But then things didn’t change. And then there was another incident.
Recognizing that the only way to reduce gun violence was if ordinary citizens--the majority of whom favor commonsense legislation--joined together to make our voices heard, we formed a local group of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. We have been lobbying our elected officials to make it easier for law enforcement officials in Pennsylvania to keep guns out of the hands of domestic abusers; learning how to talk to parents about keeping guns secure at home; and establishing a presence in our community so that like-minded citizens feel empowered to make their concerns known.
Now, Moms groups across the country are reaching out to friends, family, and neighbors to support our efforts to reduce gun violence in America, and we are reaching out to you. Please consider making a contribution that will go towards our group’s work teaching parents about gun safety at home and sponsoring public events that educate and encourage citizens to speak up about gun violence. We would appreciate any amount you would like to give.
Many thanks,
Central Susquehanna Valley Moms Demand Action
