I’m David Hamilton, and I’m running for re-election to Troy City Council.
I was born, raised, and educated in Troy. As I got married in 2017, and wanted to start a family of my own, I wanted to serve the community that made me who I am. I decided to run for City Council, and together we won!
As an engineer, I love understanding how things work. If you watch me at City Council meetings, I’m the official council nerd, breaking down our budget, spending, revenue, and long term planning in intricate detail. Part of this is a natural curiosity of how things work that was ingrained to me from my dad, who was also an engineer.
But the biggest reason is that I know these things matter. Money we raise and spend affects all 89,000 residents in our City. They give us police and fire departments that keep us safe, roads, drains, beautiful parks , trails, and recreation programs, water, and more.
As we watch our federal government filled with dysfunction, policies that benefit the wealthy at the expense of the poor and sick, I try to focus on what I can change. We can make sure Troy is a fair, efficient, and just community where anyone from any diverse background can thrive.
I ask for your contribution to help the campaign reach voters, and for your vote on November 4th 2025, to keep Troy on the right path.
Thank you!
