My name is Hannah King and I鈥檓 proud to announce my candidacy for the Ward 8 Burlington City Council seat. As a renter, student, and daughter of a single mother I鈥檝e felt the consequences of leaving community members behind. Our community needs representative leadership that listens and is responsive, that is thoughtful in its approach to solving complex problems, and puts people before politics.
I鈥檝e had the privilege of serving as the Ward 8 Representative on the City of Burlington鈥檚 Community Development Block Grant Advisory Board and on the Wards 1+8 Neighbourhood Planning Assembly Steering Committee. Through these roles I鈥檝e seen first hand what we can accomplish when we listen to each other and work together.
