Daniela's Sunrise Birthday Pledge
Hi everyone! December 29 is my birthday! And the best birthday gift I can imagine would be being able to support the Sunrise Movement with help from my friends. 
Sunrise is a new movement led by young people to stop climate change in its tracks, creating good jobs and more democracy and equality in the process. We're gearing up to make climate a critical issue in the 2018 elections by unseating politicians in the pocket of the fossil fuel industry and electing champions who will fight to protect our shared home.
Here in New York, I've volunteered as a coordinator of Sunrise NYC since August. We have done so much with few resources and a whole lot of volunteer time – and we need grassroots financial support to be able to grow, because we sure don't have the $$ of the fossil fuel industry. NY is one state in which we're going to have young people join "Sunrise Semester" and spend 6 months working as full-time volunteers on kicking fake Democrats who block climate action out of NY's legislature.
In a dark year, Sunrise gives me hope & I can't wait to keep building the movement in 2018. We need your support to make sure that young people from all kinds of backgrounds are able to participate in this fight for our futures. And I'm telling you, investing in this movement will give you a much higher return on investment than buying me a birthday drink. ;) Thank you so much!
