Please vote for Elizabeth Harder to represent Harwich

Please vote for Elizabeth Harder on November 6th to be your Representative for the Barnstable County Assembly of Delegates

I'm running to represent Harwich because:

  • I believe in a strong, capable County Government
  • I believe if the towns work together we can accomplish more for less money
  • I believe we must do more to take care of our elderly population, both physically and mentally
  • I believe we must address the opioid crisis in a thoughtful, caring manner
  • I believe in assisting the poor and underprivileged children in our community
  • I believe we must ensure the safety and availability of our water supply
  • I believe in protecting the environment
  • I believe in assisting local businesses
  • I believe we must do all the above and more to ensure a thriving year-round community

My Story:

I grew up and spent most of my life in New York City, spending summers on the Cape. I worked primarily in non-profit theatre management, but also spent time working in advertising, publishing, and other industries, including many years at KPMG.

I left my last job in 2006 to move to the Cape to take of my parents, who had retired in their beloved Harwich. Through my mother’s fierce fight to resist the changes planned to Route 124, I learned how important it is for each citizen to stand up for their beliefs.

I have spent the last six months spending everyday trying to get my 80-year-old uncle the care he needed. From doctors to hospitals to nursing homes, the process was complex and exhausting, and made me gravely concerned for those who don’t have someone like me advocating daily on their behalf.

This born and bred City girl has fallen in love with The Cape and everything it has to offer. Harwich is the loveliest town, and I am proud to call it home. I’m asking for your vote because I want to ensure that we have strong representation that believes in the power and possibilities of a quality County Government.

Thank you, Elizabeth
