In 2021 HRTC's dream of opening our own “Come As You Are” Center came closer to reality. We leased 21 Merlin Street – just what we were looking for – a large open light-filled space full of warm-hearted people. We are aiming to create the same open door welcome, with therapy for mental health substance use issues and many other “whole person care” services under one roof, as we have in our mobile pop-up drop-in centers.
In the last year we have added 4 more therapy offices and installed a new floor. We are just missing a few finishing touches to make it the warm and welcoming place we know it will be. On our wishlist: update our kitchen, comfortable furniture for our therapy offices and new couches for the common area.
Merlin will cement the legacy of HRTC’s founders, Patt and Jeannie, who are also Harm Reduction Therapy pioneers. With your support, we will create a center where people living on the streets, who have struggled to find connection with mainstream services and society-at-large, can find a place of belonging and connection.
Please honor HRTC’s dedication to the most marginalized people in our communities by supporting the final stages of our renovations of Merlin and by continuing to fund the lowest threshold mental health services anyone has ever known.
