About Tavis
Tavis Hasenfus is serving his 2nd term in the Maine House of Representative representing his hometown of Winthrop and Readfield.
Tavis is committed to ensuring we have a state government that works for everyone and believes that his report card will be written by the children of Maine. Tavis is committed to building a bright and healthy future for Maine. He served as the House chair of the Commission to Study the Expansion of Public Preschool and Early Education. He believes that investments in giving every child a quality education is the path to a prosperous future: expanding pre-K for every four year old, continuing free community college, funding our schools and paying our educators is crucial if we expect a brighter tomorrow.
Tavis is also working to protect the pristine lakes that we all love and live by. Together with local conservation groups, he has established a higher investment in the health of lakes from invasive pests and plants. Along with other leaders in the Maine Legislature, he is at the forefront of a national understanding on how to eliminate nasty forever chemicals like PFAS and other toxins from our waters so that we can continue to hand future generations the best Maine that we can remember.
