Approximately one in three children living with Type 1 diabetes in low-income countries won't make it past their 25th birthday. Over 500 million people or one out of every 16 people in the world are living with Type 2 diabetes.
And, across the globe, there are significant barriers to access to diabetes care.
We must do better.
With a mission to democratize impact investing, the Health Finance Institute is spearheading programs to expand access to diabetes care.
Currently, we are in the process of launching two diabetes programs:
- In Mexico, where we are working closely with local partners to increase access to life-saving devices for youth living with Type 1 diabetes.
- In Armenia, we are partnering with the Danish Red Cross to launch the first social impact bond for Type 2 diabetes in the country.
