An Appeal for the Ocean ... and its Champions

The Healthy Ocean Coalition is a community of ocean lovers working together to advance ocean conservation and climate justice.


We are working to raise $50,000 to sustain our highly successful Healthy Ocean Advocacy Academy. This program has been instrumental in training passionate individuals to become effective champions for the ocean and their communities, and we need your support to continue this vital work.


Why Your Donation Matters:

  • Enhance Education: Your contribution helps us provide free, comprehensive training to aspiring ocean advocates from purposefully under-resourced communities.
  • Move the Movement Forward: We equip our network of advocates with the tools and knowledge to make a real difference in ocean conservation and justice in their communities.
  • Increase Our Impact: Our graduates go on to lead community initiatives, influence policy, and drive meaningful change for the ocean and people, but often need our support to make it happen.


Our Goal: Raise $50,000 by the close of National Ocean Month: June 30th.


These funds will allow us to:

  • Staff our academies with ocean climate policy and organizing experts.
  • Offer full scholarships to candidates from non-legacy environmental groups.
  • Develop our online learning platform to reach more advocates across the country. 

How You Can Help:

  • Make a one-time donation of $100
  • Become a monthly supporter with a recurring gift of $25.
  • Sponsor a student's participation in the Academy with a donation of $500 (half sponsorship) or $1000 (full sponsorship).
