Lynn is a community activist and organizer, musician, union member, writer, wife and mother. She lives in Glen Ellyn with her husband of 22 years, Michael Allaway, and their four school-aged children.

Lynn is running for the DuPage County Board District 4 as a natural outgrowth of her role as a dynamic and extremely active member of her community. She is also running for her third consecutive term as an elected Precinct Committeeperson. She is focused on fiscal responsibility and transparency, election integrity, climate action and affordable insulin for all.

Lynn is a member of the Glenbard West Boosters, Association of Music Parents and Bridge Communities. She is the Founder and President of Glen Ellyn Women Leaders (GEWLS) and is a member of St. Petronille Parish.

Lynn was recently selected for the Illinois Women’s Institute for Leadership Training Academy, which trains women to run for office at every level of government. She is the only woman from DuPage County to win this honor in nearly a decade.

Lynn received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Illinois, and her Master’s Degree from the University of Notre Dame on a merit-based full scholarship. Lynn currently holds the position of Principal Violist with the Chicago Jazz Philharmonic.

Lynn also writes about politics, women’s issues, gun violence prevention, and current events for Huffington Post, DemCastUSA, and many other online platforms.
