My name is Hene Kelly, and I am running for a position on he San Francisco Democratic Central Committee (SFDCCC) in AD 19.

 

I am a political activist known for leading demonstrations on Social Security, Medicare for All, and Labor Rights. I got involved in Democratic Politics before I was able to vote when I walked for J. F.K., and I have not stopped. This year I walked for Warnock. I walked with both César Chavez and Martin Luther King and have worked on civil rights since the 60s.

 

I was a public school teacher for 38 years, and have been a dedicated union member and officer now serving as the SF Labor Council Sergeant at Arms. I hold leadership roles in retiree organizations, notably as VP & Legislative Director for the California Alliance for Retired Americans (CARA). I am the elected California Democratic Party’s Region 7 Director that covers San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara.

 

The key to ensuring that our San Francisco values are heard throughout the nation is to build a strong, active, and diverse Democratic Party right here at home!

 

The SFDCCC serves as the local face of the state and national Democratic Party. The SFDCCC makes endorsements of candidates and ballot measures, taking a stance on pressing issues like climate justice and reproductive rights by passing resolutions, and organizing and registering Democrats, plus chartering and working with Democratic Clubs.
