A Tribute to Sam Himmelstein


We are grateful to Sam Himmelstein for his long career as a tenant attorney, and the immense contributions he has made to the fight for tenant protections. Sam is a legend: He won countless cases, making law, keeping people in their homes, recovering rent overcharges, reducing rents, getting repairs, defending rent regulation. Sam has an encyclopedic knowledge of landlord-tenant law and an unwavering commitment to the cause of housing justice. After 44 years representing tenants, Sam retired earlier this year.
