Finger-Lickin' Stupid

This is truly unbelievable. Yesterday, in a meeting of the Economic Opportunity and Poverty Reduction Task Force, extremist GOP Senator Vicki Marble (R-Larimer County) unleashed her backwards views about race, obesity, and nutrition in Colorado:

Here’s what Sen. Marble said:

"There are problems in the black race: sickle-cell anemia is something that comes up, diabetes is something that’s prevalent in the genetic makeup and you just can’t help it, although I’ve got to say, I’ve never had better barbecue and better chicken and ate better in my life than when you go down south and you — I love it…"

Yikes.

We can’t beat extremists like Vicki Marble without your help. An investment in HMP means that we can recruit candidates and run campaigns in Colorado to defeat the GOP and its parade of the same out-of-touch extremists that we’ve seen in every election over the past decade.

This morning, the Denver Post Editorial Board weighed in on Sen. Marble’s bewildering tirade as well, “Possibly making things worse, Marble later issued a statement that, instead of saying she was sorry, proclaimed she was "saddened" her words were taken as offensive. We are saddened a state lawmaker can be this ignorant in 2013.”
