Working for our Future!

Hello, my name is Hoang Nguyen. I’m your neighbor on the east bench where I live with my husband and my two boys. Some of you may know a few of the businesses my siblings and I started such as Sapa Sushi and Dragonfly Wellness, which have provided jobs for thousands of Utahns over the last two decades.

What you may not know is that my family came to the U.S. from Vietnam and lived on the west side of Salt Lake following the death of my father. My mother became a young widow and as a family we had to quicky learn how to navigate the ins and outs of our new home – Utah. We banded together and have created a thriving family business that has become an integral part of the rich fabric of the community.

I am proud to be a Utahn. But living on both sides of the valley, I have personally seen the stark differences in the quality of life for our residents: from access to a quality education to clean air and even accessibility to our great outdoors. I believe we all are better off as a community when all Utahns have better access to these necessities.

I am the State House Representative for District 23. My mission is to share my story – and yours – in order to bring better policies that will help shape a more inclusive future for all of us.

I know how to do this. As a business owner, a mother, and a proud Utahn, I know I can get this job done. I am excited to get to work for all Utahns!
