Katie Hobbs has been hard at work protecting the state's election process. She tackled the gender pay gap in her department's office and gave a much-needed raise to women of color, many of whom were making less than $15 per hour. She also created the Voter Community Advisory Council to bring together diverse communities—such as students and organizations, including the NAACP, Mi Familia Vota, and the Inter Tribal Council of Arizona—to increase outreach to underrepresented communities, including voter registration and voting access.
Thanks to those efforts, there was record turnout in communities of color in the 2020 election. Katie Hobbs has shown up for our communities, and now it is time for us to show up for her.
