Working families and members of the Democratic Party of Orange County are coming together to honor labor champions on Cesar Chavez Day.
Gloria Alvarado, Executive Director of the Orange County Labor Federation, and Labor attorney Florice Hoffman will be recognized for their efforts to empower working families.
Cesar Chavez (1927 - 1993) was a relentless advocate for social justice and worker rights. An American hero, Chavez led a non-violent movement in the mid-1960s that improved the lives and working conditions for nearly 2.5 million farmworkers. Along with fellow activist Dolores Huerta, Chavez founded the United Farm Workers Union.
