Public education today is our economy tomorrow, and school board members play a critical role in protecting our investment in public schools – and our children.
As we saw this month, excellent school board candidates lost races across the state due, in large part, to well-funded opposition groups that spent millions of dollars in an effort to gain greater control of school boards throughout Florida.
The parents behind our political committee have been on the ground across the state listening to, commiserating with, and learning from pro-public education school board candidates and supporters. From those conversations, we’ve developed a plan to help public education champions compete as school board candidates in today's political climate. Help Out Public Education (HOPE) was formed to be aggressive in identifying and developing pro-public education campaigns, raising awareness about the timing and importance of school board elections, and focusing on No Party Affiliation (NPA) and small county voters.
It's Giving Tuesday and Florida public schools need your help. Help us invest in and support school board candidates who believe in public schools, value students, parents and teachers, and will ensure that Florida public schools utilize a high-quality rich curriculum that encourages critical thinking. If you believe that public education is worth fighting for, please support our statewide effort to Help Out Public Education by contributing to HOPE!
