Rising From the Ashes: Help Rebuild Humble Hearts

On May 19, 2026, our hearts were shattered as we witnessed the devastating total loss due to a fire at the Humble Hearts Community Resource Center in Dresden, TN, a community initiative of Free Hearts, that launched in Oct 2023, and moved to its present 7,000 sq foot location in March 2024.

Humble Hearts was never just a building, it was a lifeline. People came for essential resources like clothing, household items, toys, diapers, hygiene products, and basic necessities, but they also came for hope. They found support, compassion, encouragement, and a reminder that they were not alone. It was a place where community gathered, connected, did community service, organized, and where second chances and service were lived out every day. Hundreds of families were served yearly in Christmas giveaways, and donations were given to schools, prisons, to our other community resource center across the state, and to hundreds of people who came in the doors during times when they needed it the most.

Over the years, so many of you helped make Humble Hearts what it became. You gave, volunteered, donated, shared our mission, and believed in this work. To every one of you, thank you. Your generosity has always been the heartbeat of Humble Hearts. While the fire took the building, it did not take our mission. We are deeply grateful to our landlord, Mr. Rick Finney, and to the firefighters and emergency responders whose courage and service protected the community during this tragedy. The overwhelming love and support we’ve already received reminds us of one truth: Humble Hearts was never about a building, it has always been about people. We are hurting, but we are not defeated. We are grieving, but we have hope. We will rebuild. As we begin this journey, we need your help more than ever.

Every donation will help us write the next chapter of the Humble Hearts story.
