Hydrate Detroit is a 501(C)3 water relief organization providing emergency water, consultation, advocacy and restoration of water services to families in the city of Detroit with their water shutoff. Hydrate Detroit also has educational workshops and seminars to educate people about the detroit water crisis and host many events and community activities.
The Hydrate Detroit #SHAREWATER campaign encourages Detroit residents to be neighborly and share their water with families living without water. With your help, we’ll be able to recruit volunteers to deliver emergency water, canvassers to identify potential residents whom qualify, hold an emergency city-wide Town Hall, purchase necessary emergency food/water supplies, and restore water service by making an important difference in the fight against poverty and water insecurity in Detroit.
The Hydrate Detroit #SHAREWATER program is aimed at helping Detroiters restore and maintain access to clean running water. here are four easy steps to participate in volunteering: 1. Donate cases, gallons and jugs of water to local Hydrate Detroit water hubs. 2. Donate charitable resources to restore water for a local family. 3. volunteer with Hydrate Detroit to become a local water hub for your community, help deliver water or become a water advocate. 4. Accept the challenge to organize a #SHAREWATER event in your community by rounding together a group taking the pledge to be a sharewater partner. "Detroit can practice neighborly love and change the perception by sharing their water with people that have no access to water" Meeko Williams, Chief Director Hydrate Detroit
