Hydrate Detroit MIMAC #Sharewater May Day Event

Hydrate Detroit is partnering up in collaboration with The Michigan Mutual Aid Coalition (MIMAC) by bringing a #SHAREWATER Event to Dueweke Park in the City of Detroit.


On Sunday May 1, 2022

from 3:00pm to 6:00pm

at Dueweke Park

located at 4975 Sheridan Street

(On the Corner of Gratiot East of Warren Ave)


Services Offered will be:

Free Brake Light/ Headlight/ Tailight Replacement for All Vehicles


Free Dinner Buffet along with Refreshiments.


In addition, we'll also offer a clothing giveaway, along with issue-focused literature and conversation around ending water shut-offs, utility sovereignty for the people and other issues affecting Detroit's working class.


Hydrate Detroit Services:

- Provides assistance with help, consultation and advocacy on water service disconnection.

- Provide help and resources with minor plumbing issues.

- Policy watchdog for water affairs.

- Advocacy: go before water board and get them to put shut-off customers on reduced payment plans and relief packages, get service restoration.

- State & National Watchdog: following contamination of public water supply as a result of privatization, water shut-offs.


- Hydrate Detroit and Michigan Mutual Aid Coalition will partner on a fundraiser in the lead-up to a community aid and water rights advocacy fair


- Hydrate Detroit & MIMAC will use ActBlue Charaties to create fundraiser and management in collecting charatible funds and resources for the coalition.


- Michigan Mutual Aid Coalition will provide volunteers from their organization and greater network, to host a free headlight/taillight repair service, free food, and free store to the neighborhood in exchange for their time to learn about ending water shut-offs and further advocacy about Hydrate Detroit’s mission to enshrine water as a human right.


if the goal exceeds our fundraiser All further proceeds will be used to supply future & upcoming events of MIMAC with the following needs:

-- Food and beverage

-- Serving supplies

-- PPE, sanatizer & health supplies

-- Stationary, craft supplies for signage, and promotions

-- Transportation costs for volunteers

-- Auto supplies for headlight/taillight repair


HOW TO DONATE:


  1. Sign up for The ActBlue Charaties Account (one-time quick easy sign up) and enter in your payment information
  2. Enter in the Amount of donation and choose in the blue box how much you want to donate: Any amount is fine.
  3. You may make a one time donation of a recurring amount every month which is a monthly donation of any amount you choose

EX: If you sign up for a monthly recurring donation of $25.00 a month, you will receive a free Hydrate Detroit Water Bottle with a thank you note for your charitable contribution.
